Build US credit history before getting a SSN

A good credit score helps you rent an apartment, get approved for loans, and access higher spending limits. Once you receive your SSN, we retroactively report your transactions to US credit bureaus, giving you a head start in building credit history.

Avoid accidental overspending

You're in control with the Adro World Mastercard. Your spending limit is based on the balance in your reserve account, preventing overspending. Use it like any other credit card for payments. Update your spending limits at any time by adding money to your reserve account.

Got questions?

Can I really build credit history without a SSN?

Yes! US credit bureaus will match your name, date of birth, address and other information to your Adro payment history. A Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) makes it easier to report your credit history accurately, but it isn’t required to open an Adro account. Once you've received your SSN, your payment history is reported retroactively to Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

How does the 1% cashback work?

You’ll earn 1% cashback on any qualifying purchases you make. Once your cashback balance reaches $25.00, you’ll be paid out directly to your Adro account. In other words, for every $1,000 you spend you’ll get $10 back just for using your Adro World Mastercard.

How is my money protected?

The balance in your Adro account is held in trust for you with members of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), an independent agency created by the US government. FDIC protects eligible deposits held at FDIC member institutions in case of a bank failure. Every account you open with Adro is FDIC-insured up to $250,000 through Stearns Bank, N.A., Member FDIC.
